I may be wrong but somehow I don't agree %age gains can be equated with $$ gains. Obviously I would not go out and buy 10,000 shares of a $2 stock, due to many reasons - the uncertainty and liquidity issues being the foremost. But would I buy 100 shars of a $200 tech stock ? Yes I would. Realise these are the extremes prices, but nevertheless hold tru in some cases...

So in the end, I make larger $$ profits on a $200 stock ??????

Besides, metals & commodities have very unfavorable cycles which can last years, unlike technology which doesn't (cannot ?) go out of favor for more than a few months.....
