Have a look at she_x's rumour on the Yahoo Club Board. It is about the possibility of a DELL announcement on the 15th of a big deal with IBM (possibly IBM outsourcing PC's to DELL).

I agree with your points of concern and would add the following -
5. failure to reduce opex through headcount and supply chain savings
6. failure to grow services revenue at industry levels
7. failure to develop a storage business which is not dependent on ProLiant or Alpha sales - i.e. a true multi-vendor storage play, where people buy CPQ storage on its merits for non-CPQ systems.

All of these areas are places where CPQ could either win big or stumble...
