Shock - 2. A sudden agitation of the mind or feelings; a sensation of pleasure or pain caused by something unexpected or overpowering; also, a sudden agitating or overpowering event. ``A shock of pleasure.' --Talfourd.

Is an itching, violently twitching trigger finger a sign of shock? Is there a doctor in the house?

jeff,

this strong, early action on COMS two weeks ahead of the ipo indicates to me that

a) people want PALM as a long term hold, not just a flip, and

b) there is a growing, albeit an underlying, perception that COMS is improving its business.

yesterday cory johnson from tsc said it well when he made some comparisons...

" I think that Palm is really creating
some distance between it and its rivals now...

In every new technology, something
emerges as an unshakable standard, a monopoly
even....

Microsoft did it. Intel, to some extent
did it. It's not illegal...

It's just natural that consumers want a
standard. Palm seems to be clearly on the way
towards that."

i agree with your suspicion that eb hasn't shown us all his cards. but i do think that he has gotten up off his visionary butt and begun to implement some solid plans.
