GE Aircraft to start business-to-business site-WSJ
NEW YORK, Feb 10 (Reuters) - GE Aircraft Engines, General Electric Co.'s (NYSE:GE - news) largest unit, will unveil
plans on Thursday for a new Web site for commercial airlines and military customers to buy parts and other items over the
Internet, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The move is the most recent foray into online business by a GE unit, the Journal said. GE Plastics and GE Industrialsystems,
maker of electrical components, already do business with their customers over the Internet, the Journal said.

Earlier this week GE Capital unveiled a site to sell financial services to customers, the Journal said.

GE also has been developing other functions for the Internet, such as Remote Diagnostics, a system GE workers can use to
monitor equipment such as jet engines or hospital scanners, the newspaper said.

GE Aircraft Engine's new site will allow the unit's more-than 300 customers to place orders 24 hours a day, check inventory,
pay bills and see pictures of ongoing repair and maintenance GE mechanics perform. The Journal said more than 250,000
parts will be available online.

The $10.6 billion unit also will post bulletins and training instructions, the newspaper said.
