Coach, I see people chasing consistent winners vs. value/bottom plays. It takes faith to buy at the bottom. Maybe there will be a runup two weeks prior to earnings, but what will be the price then? It seems that ATHM is shopping for a partner based on TJ's comments in Worth. An announcement of this deal would cause a run, but this game of mergers and acquisition rumors have gone on for last six months. EPS growth is for a penny increase in Mar00 and Jun00. Analysts have been right on the money with the EPS targets. Not too exciting for many tech investors. Maybe in June this will be worth looking at, because 2001 EPS projection have a better growth rate. Meanwhile COVD has jumped 37% since I bought it this winter. Although COVD and DSL is an intermediate solution, the growth numbers in revenue and subscribers are attracting investors. I think that COVD personnel are more media savvy in interviews. I've sold many stocks to that went up afterwards in the last months (ASWX, RIMM, ADSP), but many have also stayed down. My portfolio was up 7% in January despite the 30% drop in ATHM. Diversification causes me not to kick myself. < I know this might be old strategy in light of the internet stock mindset, but "buy and hold" may not be a bad idea here.> The question that you must consider is why would investor buy or hold this stock now. A. Value B. Potential Growth C. Takeover/merger potential D. Stellar management leadership E. AOL and YHOO have more valuation than ATHM. F. Broadband companies are going to be hot this year. If it is C or F. Good luck. Read Dr. AH's comment for D. <Close your eyes and ignore it for 6 months.> This I can't do. I always look for better stocks than what I have presently. Too much information to read nowdays. One could play 20/20 hindsight on stocks forever. I bought and held MDT for five years, selling occasionally after splits. ORCL is gone up five fold and I only sold 50% once. Millions of ways to make money in the market. I don't short stocks, so I wish you the best of luck with ATHM. I will continue to watch it. Jack
