Art, you wrote,

"In the past, SNDK has always been forthcoming about whether they're receiving royalties from a particular company."

That sure is news to me!

Has anybody tried those USB enabled CF cards from LexarMedia?

Art and Thread,

Sony has at least a half dozen new cameras coming out which will using the chewing gum sized Memory Stick. There is an updated line of higher resolution Mavicas that actually appear to be more like video cameras with regard to size and configuration. The Cybershot line has 3 new offerings which appear to be substantially better than the two cameras they offered earlier (the one with the large, awkward lens and no camera body and the other 2.1 megapixel without zoom and sporting a very small Carl Zeiss lens). I think the price points are still a bit lofty.

Also, the NY Times "Circuits" section in today's paper has prominent ads for the VAIO Music Clip ($299.99) and the Digital Walkman ($399.99). Again, prices seem steep. Throw in a 64 MB Magic Gate (a secure flavor of the chewing gum Memory Stick) for a whopping $149.99 plus tax.

I hope the MMC and SDMC pricing can beat that price target.
