Hi Herb:

Being a truly lousy two-fingered typer, I've long been a serious student of speech recognition technology. I've utilized several over the last few years, but although the improvements are coming, to my knowledge, none are really able to provide dictation capability. The problem is two fold. It takes quite a while to "educate" the system to one's pronunciations and error correction is tedious.

That said, I personally will pay full price for the first system that works even marginally well in a dictation environment.

I have posted earlier the fact that with most kids being exposed to "computer keyboard skills" from an early age in our schools, the actual pool of people who might be interested in buying a system may well be much smaller than we think. I know my kids are uninterested as they type without looking at the keys (unbelievable) (g) And they do this without consciously thinking about the process.

Best, Earlie
