Dear David: BOY, I will SECOND THAT. One of my friends is a part time COSTCO employee and he CONSTANTLY tells me I should get a parttime job there myself to get in on their medical benefits program. Through him I have met a number of full and parttime employees and they ALL love the company. If I were a Union I wouldnt waste my time even trying to get into there. JDN

Dave:

Yep! I think I qualify as a Costco Faithful ... I still own the original shares I bought at the 1983(?) IPO!! A rookie stock broker cold called my company and literally begged me to buy it. I bought 200 shares at 12.00 per share just to get rid of the pesty guy!!!<G> I've been a COST member since 1984 and believe it or not... many of the employees that were at the original store in Portland, that moved to the second store (near my home) are still with Costco 16+ years later and doing very well! You ought to find the employees parking area and check out some of the "rigs"!!!

Worth Magazine Feb. 00' issue has some nice comments about Wal-Mart being ready to move up 20% in the near future. That article commented on why that would be the case ... I'm using my own words here ... even though Wal-mart would likely not be able to keep up with CostCo where they compete head to head!!

Perhaps I am too optimistic, but ... I'm thinking we will see another split in 2 to 4 years and we will own twice as many shares as we own now at a higher price than todays 52+-! I really like the fact that the Motley Fool has COST as one of their favorites or near favorites. I recall when Investors Daily was extremely high on COST ... before the messed up merger with Price Club. I think there will be more and more interest in COST by the institutions as it continues to grow quarter by quarter. Yep, I am a COST Faithful!!

You know ... it just dawned on me ... the Title of the SI COST subject should read "COSTCO - Steaming Along!", or something other than "Costco, slow but sure?" Any thoughts?
