It's more than a little bit possible we are victims of the fear that Dell might miss their revised number. Also, weren't there some reports that showed European growth slowing? I think it was the Captain that said we need Dell to come through and show the industry is still healthy. Wall Street doesn't believe anyone else. Question is, "who among us has the nerve to grab some CPQ just prior to the Dell report in hopes it's a good one and we all get a boost." First answer: Not me. Been burned too often.

>>>>What did CPQ do to deserve these continuous down-side hits ??<<< It's more a case of what CPQ didn't do. Capellas didn't put in a strong showing at the analysts party and then caved in to the ML axe. A strong CEO like Gerstner, Armstrong, or Welch would have sent that analyst back to his seat and left him staring at his shoe tops. Of course if we had one of those guys in the driver's seat, CPQ shares probably wouldn't be in the dumper. The company can't attract a CFO, DELL warns, European pc sales viewed as weak in 2k, and CPQ keeps moving everything further out. Looks like some of the DELL investors that came on board recently may be going back to DELL. Not good. El

Michael <<"What did CPQ do to deserve these continuous down-side hits ??">> The buyers are looking for some reason to buy! Why buy one of the worst performing large caps of the last year. How many big caps can you find that are below where they were a year ago and languishing, esp this high of a percentage. What is mgmt saying to make anyone warm? Very little so everyone is fuzzy,,, might as well buy something that will go up,,, hell there are decent bond funds paying 14%+ with a chance to move up too,,, the chances of coming out ahead look much more promising there with less volatility. Waiting for something positive makes sense,,, just no reason to buy this stock and the ones needed to add stability and a little to the price are the institutions that were bit and lied to so are staying away until there is some degree of certainty of good things happening,,,
