I agree. I have two ways to handle this. First, since most of the run-up will occur prior to earnings release I may just sell the day before earnings release and forego any further gains that may result from stellar earnings results. Second, conference call will be after hours which makes it difficult to react timely. Therefore, may wait until analysts meeting (and i assume there will be one) and watch tape carefully and get whatever info. I can from my contacts as to what is going on in analysts meeting. Again, it is difficult to react timely, since I will not normally (as is the case with most individual investors) have access to the analysts meeting, and absent great analysts meeting I will likely lose 1 - 2 dollars of the run-up if I decide to sell immediately after analysts meeting.
