More than a processor doth a platform make.

Paul, >"The ePC will be available with Windows 98, NT or 2000 and ship with either Intel Celeron or Pentium III processors. HP
will not use AMD chips as the PC maker has found its corporate customers are more comfortable with Intel
processors, said the ePC source. "

Thanks Paul, good one.

This validates what we've known all along about corporate customers and their preferences. It stacks up on top of the Ford, Delta and Eli Lilly announcements.

Also, this is HP, not a traditionally all Intel shop.

Any idea what this implies for AMD's future in the Server area - since HP's customers don't want AMD CPUs in their
desktops?

It multiplies AMD's chances by 10 to the minus (large number), which, in reality, it really already was.
