You could call at the beginning of the week and have the rep enter a long list of orders with unlikely limits. Then, even if you cancel the order, you should be able to reenter later. As I understand it, once the option has traded once, it should be universally available.

This has been the case with schwab since the early 80's. I got sick of options but do recall getting quotes and then never being able to trade them.

Try trading the more liquid options sets on the biggest stocks and you should be OK.
