To Robin Davey;

What you say makes sense. But it also assumes a lot. Although 15% may be a target for bonuses i think it is the sales force that will be tied to this goal. MC's and his direct reports' compensation and bonuses are likely to be tied to eps. Accounting personnel's bonuses are likely to be tied to reducing costs. The manufacturing managers' bonuses are likely to be tied to those items of manufacturing they control - cost of goods sold, etc. Purchasing managers' bonuses will likely be tied to material cost reductions, inventory control etc. In other words, bonuses are tied to targets within the control of the people to receive bonuses. Sales growth is one of many goals. And yes, unrealistic goals will not be received well.
