Broadband will bring the internet to the masses. Sometimes us lucky people who are fortuneate enough to be able to purchase a pc and use the internet forget that most people are not connected. With broadband, the internet will be delivered differently and it will be available to almost everyone because of ease of use and affordability.

At that point in time, it will be very easy to get performance information on items that are purchased. I would invest in the company who owns Consumer Reports. Then more and more people will make more informed purchasing decisions. Right now most people purchase goods on the advice of a salesperson. In the future, an item will be purchased as a result of an independent report. This goes for both industrial and consumer goods. The internet is the equalizer and I think that is when traditional brand name recognition will be broken down. The internet/broadband will force manufactures to make the best products possible.
