. . . .On the current market condition. . . . . Bob, I think we are in a form of wash and rinse that runs back and forth between sectors, markets and other divisions. . . .even stocks within a sector. . .like today. . . many biotechs were blazing, yet some ended lower. . . same with broadband. . . and look at gold if you want something laughable. . . something is wrong when gold cannot decide on a direction and is easily moved by an analyst's report. And look at the bond market. . .. .the Dow has had a long rest in 2000 so far. . .while the Naz has made more new highs. . . oil is hot. . .value plays are cold. . .stocks are making highs and lows on the same day. . . .look at the intraday on CRA today. . . could not decide on a direction . . . wild highs and lows. All of this uncertainty will take its toll. . . it is causing anxiety in the markets. . .illustrated by your question to me asking for a sense of where we sit. I am selling the spikes as I see them. . . and buying the biggest dips. . . and am careful what I hold overnight. As for a major market turn, I don't think we will see that for at least a month and a half. . . but little by little, I am moving out of the high fliers with the higest PE ratios . . . and moving into some of the promising small cap super tech stocks that have yet to make their big move. There are big gains to be made with this sort of play, IMO. Best wishes dealing with that fear of losing your gains. . . perhaps it is time to consider methods of locking in the gains you have.
