DYW - I agree with your second paragraph - at this point DELL should be pretty well inoculated against nose-bleeds. And also that it will probably not tank - but it could trade in the high 30s rather than the low 40s depending on whether folks buy even the revised 30% growth number.

My own already limited confidence was shaken by the guidance for 1Q... if they got only 3% earnings growth on 31% revenue growth, and are predicting flat earnings for 1Q, what kind of astronomical revenue growth are they predicting to achieve 40% earnings growth in the remaining 3 quarters (to achieve 30% for the year)?? And after the bullish predictions by DELL management of early 1999, I'm not sure how well their crystal ball is working. How would DELL's price look if they achieve 20% earnings growth instead of 30%? IBM, HP and CPQ are all projecting 10% to 15%...

Maybe I'm being too pessimistic... not delighted by either the report or the attitude displayed in the CC.

dyw "bears saying dell has lost it's momentum"

are you saying it has maintained momentum? and if a "rapid climb to the low or mid forties" just a move back to a year ago price level......and how does it punch through the mid forties????? need more then what was heard in the cc....
