Randy,

My aunt is 55 and lives alone in Florida. She was recently sick with Flu..and we wished we were there but we were not.....and as she was too weak to drive, she had her doctor phone in the prescription to a mail order physicist who then delivered it thru mail....in fact when my doctor refused to prescribe Tamiflu during our recent flu attack, she had her GP phone in and mail order the drug to *us*......

It may be a bit too ahead of its time, but theres a market for non emergency drugs on the net.....cosmetics, perfumes, drugs, electronics and groceries....I *hate* shopping for any of them and I don't have to choose, I *know* what I want.....it'll be so great not to have to wait at Longs or Costco or Frys!!!

I suppose though that for
those who require ongoing medication which can be delivered by mail, the Internet may offer
one the easiest solution to set up regular delivery. What do people do? It certainly would be
more convenient to have it delivered, so I suppose the Internet is the great facilitator here.

No question there is a need for this concept. Actually, it has been around for years without using the net. However, the winners are already known and they are Walgreen and CVS. Drugstore.com tied up with Rite Aide to be able to handle prescriptions. The problem is Rite Aide may not survive either.

Amazon Gets the Gold
By James J. Cramer

Click here for the latest from James J. Cramer.Amazon (AMZN:Nasdaq - news) wins again. It got the money. That's what it is all about.
It raised the funds. All of the bears' horses and all of the bears' men couldn't stop this deal from happening.
Join the discussion on TSC Message Boards. No shame, as usual, from the Amazon boys. They jig the stock up with the release, then they jag it down with the convertible bond at a stiff rate, but certainly much lower than any bank would give them, if one would at all -- even an online bank. They managed to beat back the bears with oodles of cash. And the bears will have to cover their shorts again.
Amazon may be the luckiest company in the history of the Western world. At this pace, what it might be able to do is put everybody out of business through the help of this incredibly bountiful tape, and then be able to raise prices and live happily ever after.
It is like the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team. It shouldn't even be in the stadium.
Instead it just got the gold.
