Lindy,
If you're looking at AMCC, take a look at VTSS. They are in the same industry, trade at a much lower multiple, have been quite undervalued, and this week have gone from a low of 41 to today's close at just under 72!
I've been invested in them for about a year and a half and have done quite well. Today's gain was my second biggest dollar gain ever (the first being the big Q move in Dec).

RE: Nokia

Bill,

Thanks for the AMCC heads up.
In case you missed IBD's interview with Nokia's CFO (Ollie Kallasvuo) on Tuesday, I thought I'd review a few highlights. (Sorry no link)

1. Stock up 825% past 24 months
2. Targeting continued 30%-40% revenue growth for 2000
3. Going on the offensive big time, stealing marketshare from Motorola and Ericsson.
4. Currently have approx. 50% of entire cell phone market.
5. Now focusing on rolling out CDMA phones. Wants their CDMA marketshare to be atleast 50%.
6. Bought Network Alchemy (makes secure communications software to access wireless data) this week.

Here's a quote from Kallasvuo: "We are a key player in shaping the mobile internet market. We will make acquisitions, mostly internet related..."

I don't own Nokia yet, but this interview sounded very good for Qualcomm.

RE: AMCC

I never make predictions. But my bet is someone wants AMCC. Someone like LU, maybe even NOK.

Something's going on here.
