Eric,
Yes my friend was able to get the shares of BBII after Cyber told me there were none available. I think it's possible that Cyber is just not getting enough shares from Penson to go around because they have more customers than they did last year. So I guess that in some cases they are just running out of shares and are either unable or unwilling to get more from Penson. This is the kind of growth I was afraid of.

The big concern I have with them running out of shares is in entering a short with 500 of the allotted 1000 shares and then being unable to add to that position if it goes against me. Averaging your entry is very important in shorting. It can make the difference between a winning trade and a loss. Most people I know who use traditional brokers are able to reserve shares until the brokerage runs out. Consequently they are guaranteed to be able to short those shares they reserved.

I am also upset that Cybercorp has not responded to these concerns here on this thread. I know that there is really no perfect brokerage for short selling. I am just concerned because Cyber used to be a lot better, and this year something has certainly changed. I would like to know what that is and if it will be remedied. I fear that the Schwab buyout is not going to help current Cyber customers with acquiring short shares. There are only going to be that many more customers clamoring for those shares.
