CREE Switching costs

In retrospect that post was probably confusing. The switching costs to go back to the more traditional silicon and GaAs devices is indeed high. The new substation can be made a fraction of the current size. In this sense SiC in this application is discontinuous and would lead to a high switching cost back to the old technology.

On the other hand switching costs to an alternative SiC device would be limited to the cost of device/ subsystem qualification. This would be a negligible cost (perhaps a $100K at most.)

Sorry for the confusion.
