i believe that was what was gleaned from "direct from dell", and the praise piled on "mikey" by the major business schools"

other then me, on this thread, i never heard word one about flaws in the model. i don't limit this statement to just the thread, but in anything ever written about dell. so "sans flaws", it adds up to "perfection"

i've worked with this model for thirty years, when it was called "kan-ban" by toyota, ouichi (theory z)wrote about it in 1982...but the fast moving world quickly forgets the past.

dell and "mikey" did nothing new, they just applied it to a different manufacturing process. but the process they applied it to was extremely risky due to short product cycles. the auto industry learned that the only way the model can maintain a semblance of balance was through longer product cycles, with minimum year to year design changes.
