I am not sure I would agree about the strategic threat part. We better learn how to live with less oil, and the sooner the better. If this wakes us up it may be a blessing in disguise. It seems that oil production will reach its peak within 8 years or so. We better be ready by then.

RM, I respectfully disagree with you. It just shows how one sided people can be.

Wen oil was $11 to $12 nobody in the US or US administration cried or asked to bring prices up in equilibrium.

Secondly as stock prices are so overpriced why not ask the US government to place a special tax (in addition to income tax) on stocks that rise to fast let say over 10% a year??
