Meathead, RE: Us engineers make terrible investors because we think logically and work in numbers... totally out of synch with the emotional aspect of the market.

On the contrary, the ability to look rationally at situations without regard to emotions should make you an excellent investor, as long as your time horizon is longer than a quarter.

Dell's slowing growth was starting to become apparent a year ago, and if you looked at the company then with a cool rational approach rather than the emotions of a person who was looking at the past rather than the future, it would have been very obvious that the stock was vastly overvalued.
