Can someone please tell me why 9 times out of 10 when someone posts a critical comment...even those followed by those stupid little smiley faces or cyber grins...people go on the offensive?

Egos float around the web like open sores I guess...just waiting to be scratched.

Keith, my post was NOT some kind of attack on your personal being. You posted a TA thing, I saw an interesting contrast and mentioned it...with a smile.

Somehow, cyberspace must develop a culture that allows for civil communication that doesn't have the advantage of visual cues to clarify meaning.

People who post opinions should expect to get comments back...why else post? People who curse in public should expect someone to say knock it off (not related to you Keith...but other situations here). People need to view the glass as half full and look to the positive side before taking offense. Those who are offensive (based on the views of each community) should clean up their act or go somewhere else.

Spending less and less time on these boards.

Ericsson sees 600 mln mobile Internet users 2002

STOCKHOLM, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Telecoms group Ericsson , the world's leading maker of
mobile phone systems, has issued a new forecast saying it expects 600 million mobile Internet
users in 2002, the company said on Friday. Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson raised the
forecast for global mobile Internet users to 600 million in 2002 from 400 million at an analysts'
meeting in London on Thursday.

''We have always been cautious with our forecasts and this is no exception,'' Ericsson
Network Operators spokesman Erik Osterberg told Reuters.

Ericsson raised the forecast due to the fast development for mobile Internet services, especially in Japan.

Japanese cell phone firm NTT Docomoo acquired some one million customers for its ''i-mode'' service in the six months since its
launch. The service offers access to online transactions such as mobile banking and ticket reservation.

It expects subscribers for ''i-mode'' to reach four million in 1999/2000.

The market for mobile Internet is still young as few services are currently up and running, partly due to the lack of fast enough
networks that can handle the required speed and quantity of transfer of data, voice and picture.

Ericsson shares were 19 crowns higher at 787 crowns in a positive afternoon market.
