poet...fyi "jdsu, implied volatility" yesterday i posted i took the bid at 46.625 on ucq-ut(jdsu sep200 puts) with the common at 206.5 common at the moment is at 203, but the option is bid 44.25 ask 45.125. common down 3, put premium down 1.5 ask........one day time decay would not cause this...it's a change in the "perception" which equates to "implied volatility", usually an indication that the buyers are reluctant....it may bounce, but it may be a perceived trend reversal on the next strong nasdaq "happy day"

Hi Poet I have sold puts on companies like LU, CSCO, MSFT, CPQ, Tommy Hilfger (sp?) Office Depot, Dell, COMS Kmart, plus others. I am a pretty conservative trader, and I look for around a 5-10% return on each play that I do. This is my first month at selling the more aggressive stocks like JDSU, SFA, NOK,SNDK,QCOM,EXDS and a couple others. HOwever I sold futher out of the money than most people here tend to do, so I do not make as much, but I sleep very well at night. I have closed out about half and feel comfortable with the remainders. If we have a big correction i will either roll them out a month or have them put to me. Then I will sell covered calls until I am called out. DM
