I am just amazed at these rumors. Of all the companies and all the stocks in the world, why generate rumors about BRK? Why would anyone short BRK? Why would there be 'fast money' in BRK at this point? This Market is terrifying. I too, will continue to purchase BRK. The bigger the position, the better, in my opinion.

This is the opportunity for Berkshire/GEICO :
infoworld.com

Geico is in the same position as Dell in 1994. It's centralized, it has no agents to alienate, it has low-cost operation, it has built a reputation over the 1-800 phone, it has a product that sells well virtually. It's built to compete on price & service.

In short, Geico has the right model to become the Insurance gorilla. In the travel industry, the brokerage industry and the computer industry, I have seen how difficult it is to move from a channel-based salesforce to a direct salesforce. This provides geico for years with a competitive advantage, while others sorts this out.

Now, I hope the managers at geico have the foresight to be working on a state of the art e-commerce system. The current geico.com site is subpar (to be polite). We need something more functional and slick. Catching up to Progressive.com site would be a great start. I know they are building the infrastructure the 1-800 call centers across the country first, and this is a good thing. We don't want being unable to service properly. I am just experiencing this absence of response with my discount broker, both on the phone and the web!

Seize the day!
