I would agree. That is why OEMs of network software code are mandated to correct issues like this as soon as a bug like this is identified.

But - on the vengeful personal side - the audience thought it would be nice for a "tit for tat" response to the hackers. In reality - everyone knew that was not the right thing to do and was not practical either.

In fact, if the bug were left in and the hacker attacks this week were to occur, the hacker(s) would not even have been directly affected since the poor unsuspecting agent computers would have been targeted. This would have made the hackers even more happy since even more havoc would have be wreaked.

But I will take your word for it that regardless of the source of the denial of service (offensive or defensive), if it were on purpose, I could believe that it would be criminal.
