Elmer - <``We don't anticipate we're going to have any difficulty with our processors like we did in Q4,' he said.">

I don't either (expect them to have the same level of difficulty). The supply situation should incrementally improve going forward.

EP, Why not just accept my congratulations?

Thanks. I guess I'm responding to the...."Not for long though I suspect" comment. Judging from your response, the congrats probably wasn't too heartfelt:

I know that in the typical AMDite manner, you would post old out of date information rather than new accurate information. You don't want to mention that 800MHz HP systems are available across the country and you don't want to mention that there are numerous reports of greater availability of CuMine processors in the press. Nor do you want to mention that Intel CuMine shipments were more than 2X the number of Athlons last quarter, even though Intel was capacity constrained and AMD had less than full utilization while unsold Athlons were sitting in the warehouse.

That's typical FUD. I do not endeavour to post old news or to only post positive news. I posted a negative article this morning.

That said, there is no doubt that there is more supply of 800mhz Cumines. But more from none isn't necessarily a significant accomplishment.

"Dell says parts situation improving........"

Whatever makes you happy. My comments, however, refer to the obvious fact that the pressure is on to release a 850 Cumine. Considering the bonanza that was the 800mhz launch....I have my doubts.

Just to underscore the current situation at Dell, I did a little DD:

commerce.us.dell.com

"Please contact your sales representative for more information as estimated ship dates for the Pentium© III Processor at 800MHz will exceed 30 days."

That is right now...today...this moment.
