I find it hard to believe that the EU can prevent MSFT from shipping W2K without triggering major trade tensions with the US. Besides, this is no Coke. What are they going to replace W2K with, Linux?

John,

Talked to my broker as I am buying some MSFT stock today. He didn't have any news, but said the selling is in very large blocks. Note the volume is very high.

Must be some rumor, or real news coming out. This selling really started yesterday, but the stock recovered with the NASDAQ rally.

We'll see, won't stop me from buying.

John

JFD, I find the drop in MSFT unbelievable. Just got back and was surprised at the low levels MSFT hit today. What an opportunity. I have just sent in some more buy orders.

Totally mindboggling. Expecting the selling to dry up at some point today.

John and all, check out dailynews.yahoo.com. In particular

Dell said the Linux operating system, considered an alternative to Microsoft Windows, was gaining momentum, and that there was no rush of corporate customers upgrading hardware systems for Windows 2000.

Basically the same news, tho, but I would accept information from Dell with more credulity than info from analysts.
