A. McLean posted the following on Voltaire's Porch. For any of you who have become fixated on the ups and downs of our Gorillas and Kings, this is a wake up call - there's a real world out there.

(Long) I don't post very often and this is not stock specific, but I wanted to share something with you all.

I left the office a little early. On my way home from work, I was wondering if the Nasdaq would continue its down move next week, why I didn't sell one stock and buy another, why I sold one stock and bought another, etc.

As I was waiting at the traffic light 42 cars deep, realizing that it would take 3 more light changes before I could get through the intersection, I saw a young boy pedaling his three wheel bike along the sidewalk.

As the boy got closer, I saw that he had Down Syndrome and that he had a basket on the back of the bike. In the basket was a mixed breed dog with a flapping tongue. The boy seemed very happy and so did his dog.

As he reached the intersection, he got off of the bike and while still holding the handle bars, he hugged his dog in the basket around the neck very gently and lovingly and kissed it on the nose. He then got on his bike and was on his way.

Suddenly I noticed that it was 75 degrees, the sky was blue with white puffs and I was on my way home to see my wife and play catch in the backyard with the kids. (they will be back in 10 minutes).

The young boy in 30 seconds reminded me to be thankful, appreciative and to have some perspective.

I admire his independence and love of life.

I apologize to God and everybody for being ungrateful and selfish.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I know I will.
