hi ed ...

on a day like this thread should actually be very busy. what a day, what an opportunity in an oversold market.

although we agree on most, there are times that we have different approaches. Who says that if two persons always agree, one is not thinking.

While you prefer to get crumbs from feb195/jdsu at 4, I have chosen to sell mar200/jdsu at 18 7/8. i want the premium as well, however i want the crumbs sprinkled with chocolates.

In one week feb options will expire while mar still has one month to go. i do expect that next Friday mar200 option will deteriorate by at least 4 points. this give me choices of keeping it longer, or take that 4 point crumbs. so where is that chocolate sprinklers? that 18 7/8/contract is deposited in the account, it reduces any margin balance or if there is a credit balance, it will earn some interest.

should the stock becomes in the money at expiry, one has to decide next week when holding feb option either to take the assignment or perform a repair strategy. march can wait.

best regards

paul
