They are scary, but divergences aren't always resolved to the downside.

The DOW and Nasdaq deserve to diverge. The avg DOW stock grew earnings by 13% while the avg Nasdaq 100 stock grew quarterly earnings by 59%
(according to IBD)

Institutions are moving out of the dow stocks and into
the NAZDAQ. Its a total asset reallocation. These divergences may persist for years unless the S&P and dow
atart adding the CSCOs, the YHOOs in their basket.
