Ah....but therein lies the rub. They got paid for doing nothing. And they will get credit when they read and incorporate your work into their own. Over time.....internet analysts from the retail side will really start to make an impact IMO....and paid analysts will be rare beasts as their numbers get cut from the budget in the market share wars that have already started..... only where big money gets represented is there still an overwhelming advantage.....but I think somehow that will change too....just haven't quite figured it out yet.

give me time.

I doubt the analysts have changed their real views on the company much at all. They are not stupid, after all, despite plenty of evidence to the contrary. But I think its understandable that they would punish the company for allowing them to get blindsided by the revenue recognition issue and for making them look somewhat foolish. I expect they will be upgrading the company as soon as some time has passed and they can all stroke their beards and nod in unison that all is well at Legato.

On the larger issue, I agree that the company's fundamentals still look great and that its a good buy here. I've been long for a couple of weeks.

FWIW.

Chuzz, as you know, both "buy-side" and "sell-side" analysts are real living people. People who were bagged by companies such as IFMX and NETA--despite hard digging and serious examination of the public information--and whose entire livelihood rests on not getting killed too often are understandably going to back off. The "sell side" must because of credibility and reputation, to say nothing about being beaten up by the sales force and the clients. The "buy side" does the same out of fear that that the "cockroach" theory might obtain, losing the people in mutual funds, IRAs, etc. even more money.

BTW, there is a rumor that this quarter might be light. A totally unconfirmed rumor that I heard about an hour ago. IMO, it is too early in the quarter, but I pass it along.
