rudedog, RE: I'm not sure where Niles gets his idea about profits - MS will make more on each Win2K desktop but not the OEMs. Maybe there's some hook I am not aware of.

The logic is that businesses will be forced to a Pent III platform and 128 MB of RAM. There is more margin $$ for DELL vs the marginal small business customer that previously could be by pretty easily with a Celeron and 64 MB RAM.
