Strongly suggest you get some of the gray beards and old heads involved that have been around awhile. Your newness will be used against your cause in the backrooms. You have organizational skills and the will to make things happen, but you need to realize that this IS politics. Of course, getting the other newbies in town involved is a great source of energy and strength, too. But don't let it become a battle of the newcomers versus the old timers. I'll bet you can find a local lawyer that is on your side, too. That could be very important when the real battle starts.
