Volition Summons Multiplay Promise

PlayStation2: Volition, the developer of THQ's upcoming 3D action-RPG Summoner, has revealed expected release dates for PlayStation2, PC and Mac versions.

Over at Volition's message board, Summoner's Assistant Producer Anoop Shekar confirms, "The PS2 version is scheduled for fall 2000. The PC and Mac versions have been pushed back to winter 2000/2001. This is to concentrate on making the PS2 version very strong and then the team will focus our efforts on the PC and Mac versions and multiplayer support, since this will not be included in the PS2 version."

Lead Programmer Mark Allender further posts, "Right -- just to further reiterate the point about multiplayer. Pushing the release of the PC and Mac versions to winter 00/01, we can pretty much concentrate 100 percent on multiplayer during that time. (That and working on the kinks on the graphics cards). The extended date will really allow us to deliver a solid mulitiplayer experience on both of those platforms."
