Cost should be within 10% of the lower performing DRAM within
about a year.

If cost were a problem, SONY would not be using RDRAM in Playstation II. In fact, RDRAM is a lower cost and higher performance solution in this type of product than the current DRAM. Why? Fewer parts demand for high video performance.

2. Current yields are not indicative of future yields. Volume production requires ongoing process improvements. There is nothing new here.

4. Die size should be within 10% of DRAM within a year.

3. DRAM has been a performance limiting component since 1991.
To say that there is no need for RDRAM is to show ignorance of well known computer design issues. If all you are doing is using Word and sending Email you can get along with any old PC.

This demand for this solution increases with the ongoing deployment of broadband and increasing use of streaming multimedia applications.

You should have attended the annual meeting where all these matters were discussed.
