i did a marketing research project last year on RIM, and vigorously analyzed the competition. motorola's pagewriter and skytel's comparative product are both very much less capable than RIM's IP950 in terms of battery life, memory and character capacity, and applications. since then, skytel is in some sort of agreement with RIM, and motorola has stopped vigorously advertising it's pagewriter, focusing on it's other areas of strength........

cell phones are close, but not directly competitive because they are still a pain to type and read off of.
