i definitely agree that we should see a seeming hammer bottom like you say...a big recovery following a big sell-off on the very same day. then you have to watch the next day or two very carefully...if the big recovery day is followed by low volatility extremely high volume days that make zero progress, you'll know the jig is up.
the hammer bottom must be accompanied by a resounding round of bottom calling by everybody...
