RM, for the long term i am actually optimistic that the world will solve the problem of fossil fuels being a finite resource. human ingenuity and the free market will hopefully see to that. while that will take time, we're not exactly running out of oil tomorrow. but it is interesting to note that the estimates in those reports point to the balance of power in the oil market shifting inexorably in OPEC's direction. as cartels go, this one has already shown us that it is extraordinarily durable.... regards, hb
