To Silver Tongue Devil,

That is such a sad story. Why would any adult tell a child he wasn't capable of doing anything, let alone something as much fun as music?

Music a so wonderful and should be shared with children. They should be encouraged to participate in every way, the dance, singing, playing an instrument, anything to help the child grow and discover how fulfilling music can be.

You can sing in my choir, and you can be any part you want!
If you're still inhibited about singing, start out by bringing the boom box in the bath room with you {but not in the shower} crank it up and sing as loudly as you want.

I know you have a wonderful voice, think what the world might have missed! The teacher could have given you a kazoo to accompany the choir if she didn't want you to sing.
Better yet, she should have worked with you....isn't that what a teacher is suppose to do...TEACH?

I bet you can identify with that Barney Fife episode when they were trying to tell Barney, nicely, that he couldn't sing in Mayberry's choir.
