Are you sure about the blood upstairs? It was reported by one source, but only one. Do you have further confirmation?

If that isn't true, then the matter's much simpler: friendly dogs who like everybody. Note as well that we could be talking about slobber: bulldogs drool horribly.

Would the dogs really have been that friendly with total strangers who don't have a "good relationship" with their master? Animals sense tension and concealed animosity much better than most people do.

Remember also that I was told by one who visited that the house was extremely difficult to find in daylight. I find it hard to believe that the killers, who arrived at night, had never been there before.

How well did they know Chalem? I'm reminded of the story of the dog who didn't bark in the night...
