Jim, what came to mind in reading this is that the government has little concept of fair dealing with private enterprise, probably because from the top down there is almost no exposure to working for a company where the security of your job depends on the success of your company. From this company to the myriad of health care providing companies (or REITs) that have recently been put at death's door, you see it everywhere. The moral of the story in my mind is that if the business is in bed with the government or substantially affected by it you should stay away unless the government relationship is very well defined, like the FDA, or the stock price is exceptional.
