A short post of a recap leading to a true short story.

<<Chris has contacted GATA's attorney, Merrill Davidoff, to find out if
they are connected enough to get the transcript.
Lordy, lordy what are we getting into? Midas Bill Murphy ( Midas )>>

The nurse, in a strong English accent, asked me of my plans
for this evening, the day before July 4th.

Kind and gentle this woman, very much at ease each time we meet,
but today she spoke with an edge to her voice.

Her body language, voice and eye movement were of a type I knew about,
and her age of about 65-70 from England gave me a strong clue.

Rather than ask directly about what she was uncomfortable about,
I spoke about myself to see if my guess was correct.

"Tonight is a big fire works display in Boston to celebrate Independance Day.
If the rockets shot up into the night sky were only those that exploded
into those wonderful colors I would have planned to be there,
but besides that type are those that explode with also a loud bang,
and some return downwards with a screaming rocket sound.
Reminds me too much of incoming I experienced in Vietnam."

That look in her eyes relaxed a little as she mentioned that her home
is next to a park where the Town will have their fireworks this evening
and she understood my feelings as she was a young woman in England
during World War II and was living where the German rockets rained down.

<<... what are we getting into?>>

better with eyes wide open

Doug

& we can see what side this guy in on:
Early Morning Market Monitor Feb 7 2000
Friday was one of those days that we were missing all those years. Gold going up in a vertical move, plus 21.4 US-$ within one session. Like on Sep 27 1999, Goldman-Sachs was mainly responsible. Them guys know how to make a quick buck! Now, "is it the real one?" is the main question, people ask me - and I tell them - and you - the unbiased truth: How should I know? How should anybody KNOW (and I dont mean guess)? This is a market with structures similar to the cocaine-cartel. Them who could know surely do not talk. Them who talk, well... yes. And the average investor? Standing behind the fence, shaken by the tides of the markets. Oh no, not at all: If one was willing to learn one thing from septwentysevenninetynine, it was that there IS life on mars. Every now and then someone is interested in gold moving up, not down. So - who was not long last week? Well, Iïm sorry for you. And now? My guess (spell g-u-e-s-s) is a similar pattern, like in september: For the time being up, with another possibility of an exuberant blow off, leading at least above 320. This should be the signal
