John
Yes, great buying opportunity. sold some sunw, csco and ntap to get back into msft. Figure at these prices msft has some room to run up. Thursday and Friday were great days to sell some highs and buy msft. imo. John

John-- After working on Y2K for 2 years and watching the problem for a year before that I was very familiar with the Gartner Group (of fools?). Seeing thier wishy-washy comments on W2K is even more of a joke as at least with Y2K they were 'confidently' running hype and scare tactics where with W2K they are already weak in the knees.
Today I started to read my Feb 7 issue of Info World. Their lab people give all the info needed for a successful W2K implementation. Granted it would not be easy for those at the Gartner Group, but opening the package could be difficult there. Any strong IS dept should have no problem. Even a not so strong IS dept that follows the requirements and does the preplanning and inventory should sail through. Small businesses may want to implement through a 3rd party. It was surprising to read Allchin's interview and find out how many systems are already running-- Barnesandnoble.com ran through the Xmas ordering season. All the ranting by the Gartners should be looked at as if it was the local GardeN Club IMO. Too bad they have some influence left-- at least fot a little while!
