My theory is that they don't know what the f-word Cisco does, so they leave them alone. If any of the analysts decide to go learn network engineering, that may change.

It sure isn't easy. I know just enough about networking to understand what's going on, but not enough to do anything with it except set up my own four-machine mixed-OS (Win/Linux with Samba) home network, and I'm a friggin' software engineer with embedded applications experience, for God's sake! Even though it all works, I even worry about why I have redundant entries in my Linux routing table. I don't think any analyst will get that far...
