jaytee,

MyTrack is not my broker. They are not registered as a broker in my state (CT), which I gather is not the easiest place to become registered. I might have tried them, and may still move an account there if they ever do get registered.

I don't pay a lot of attention to the broker capability, but I do know you can trade options (They recently authorized selling naked puts). I'm uncertain about the routing. You can get quotes from the separate exchanges, but I don't think you can select an exchange for execution. One hopes they will always route to the best price, but I just don't have any experience to share.

It may be semantics, but everybody uses "internet trading". MyTrack does run under proprietary software rather than through a browser, but everything still flows through the internet, and that sometimes causes problems. They have several different servers connected to at least 3 different backbones. You get randomly assigned to one at log on. Sprintlink.net is consistently bad. ALTER.NET is better, and cerf.net seems to be the best. I log off and try again if I get Sprint.

You can download the software for free, and run it on your machine for delayed data and "Contest Trading" that will give you a good feel for the interface. My feeling is they are a step above your typical online broker, but I really can't tell you anything about the speed for live trading.

Dan

TO ALL (the ENTIRE GROUP!) If it wouldn't be too much to ask, who do YOU like as YOUR broker, and WHY did you choose them, or what made you CHANGE to them.

I'm fed up with mine, and would APPRECIATE GREATLY any of YOUR FIRST-HAND thumbs ups or thumbs downs.

Looking for an outfit w/reasonable rates (not necessarily rock bottom)
That gives good fills (quick. and w/ fast confirmation)
Does options (obviously)and leaps

But , unfortunately, I need to transfer over some BB stocks (bulletin board/over the counter) and want to be able to "work my way out" of them @ the new broker. . . not just liquidate them (at a loss, for now).

Then I can get back on track and get back in the ballgame (wins)
MANY THANKS
jaytee
