Fellow curmudgeons, a question:

On the other thread it is customary to lavish bouquets on the wise elders who give us all such good advice, help us make gobs of money, transform our lives, and so forth.

It therefore seems appropriate that the reverse should hold for this thread. So, to take one purely hypothetical example, what should the curmudgeonly response be to someone who--albeit with the best of intentions--spreads FUD and scares impressionable newbies out of short-term positions in companies that proceed to leap 13.38% the very next day?

ctb/a <--- lower case due to poverty caused by taking such advice

all purely hypothetical, of course...
