A Bell Atlantic deal would make GMGC for the one-year term at least. I can not see GMGC's current story getting them past the $12 - $15 range. (A "story" to me is a consistent unfolding of events and comments, with at least some tangibles as to product and resources to back it up.)

As all know, AOL was a major partner of GMGC in the Magic Cap days.

For whatever it's worth, Bell Atlantic has been the most aggressive adopter of Phone.com's Up.Link server and they are the test user of their provisioning systems. It's not to say that BA wouldn't work with GMGC, but it seems that their provider of first choice would be Phone.com. Also, PHCM will be integrating VUI into their existing GUI through their recent purchase of @Motion. And finally, Delphi had a demo of a WAP based AutoPC in Las Vegas this year.

If you do a search on WAP in Business Wire, you'll have hours of reading on companies adopting and rolling out WAP web services. An interesting one this week was from Bob Geldof.

When you look at the variety of web experience that is quickly ramping, you have to wonder if a proprietary system like this is really good enough. Look at Infospace. They've also got tons of things in the works that probably won't be easily integrated into a proprietary system.

The question will be, does magictalk break this barrier? Does the VoXML forum also provide a break through? It certainly must because I'm still confused why a person would want 2 cell phone accounts, one for the car and one for the pocket???

Finally, there is a basic question of security which has been solved by WAP. Until you can make it possible for a person to buy a thing or service, you are missing 75% or the battle. There is a movement called "m-commerce" which could offer a solution?
