You make a good point. DOE to me means when an order goes direct to the exchange without manual handling of a broker. For people using RT3 or Cybertrader perhaps their definition might be more closely linked to the ability to route to specific ECN's or MM's. I do think that as markets and order entry software evolve that routing will soon become a non issue. You already see this with CyberX. It would be refreshing not to have to waste time on routing/execution and be solely focused on entry/exits.
